When Tiffany Johnson was attacked by a shark in 2017, she lost part of her right arm.
As a talented singer, writer, and public speaker, Tiffany has touched the lives of people all over the globe with her message of redemption and hope. How to triumph over adversity, adapt to change, and make sense of it all are significant themes in her message.
Tiffany’s vivid narrative style propels you to the event that irrevocably altered her life. You will not be left there; instead, you will be offered a viewpoint that motivates and tests you.
The North Carolina resident was in the Bahamas when her snorkeling excursion was abruptly cut short when she bumped into “something” while engrossed in the wonder of a densely populated reef.
When she turned to her right to see what nudged her, she was face to face with a shark.
The bump she felt was when it had grabbed onto her arm, and it was in his mouth.
There’s a sense of doom, and a feeling of succumbing that has to be resisted, all in a moment. Johnson tells of a series of flashbacks from her past that played out in her mind. She felt a “sudden strength” that she believed God bestowed upon her.
She fought back. The shark started to struggle and flail about. She said you’re genuinely unable to speak a word. One of the times, she yanked his jaws open, and her arm just flew out of his mouth, and she looked down, and her arm was gone.
Tiffany managed to break free, but the shark bit off her arm, leaving her with a mangled stump.
It seemed as if the whole assault happened in an instant.
She had gotten herself freed and was now on the ground. Shouting, she threw her snorkel on the ground. Her spouse hurried to her side after hearing her cries for help.
She depended on her husband’s memories to fill in the blanks in the immediate aftermath.
Tiffany is very much alive and well. In addition to writing, she is assisting other victims of shark attacks.
She believes wholeheartedly God miraculously saved her.
