A social media star and her family have vacated their mansion following reports of her boyfriend’s abduction and alleged plier-pulled tooth extraction for a drug debt owed by one of her cousins.
A gang of men reportedly entered Angel Bowyer’s family’s Smithfield home in Sydney’s west on March 9, 2018, armed with sledgehammers and firearms. Angel, 25, and Peter Vuong, 27, were sleeping inside.
The men took Vuong hostage. For six days, the kidnappers blindfolded and held him hostage in a rundown Belmore property in the city’s inner-west. They sought to collect a $5 million ransom for Vuong.
Ms. Bowyer’s cousin’s husband, crypto investor Tran Dinh, reportedly received the financial demands. He then informed the authorities and set in motion a convoluted rescue attempt to save Vuong.
Six men and a woman were detained in connection to the alleged kidnapping, and Dinh, who is thought to have been the original victim of the incident, has subsequently departed from Australia.
Five months following the alleged assault, in August, the Bowyer family put their property on the market.
Situated on a 683 sqm parcel, this four-bedroom residence boasts a ‘theater room,’ two bathrooms, a double garage, and a security system valued at four grand, but it seemed not to thwart the home invaders. The family allegedly installed a state-of-the-art security system at the property only days before the abduction.
The family bought another house in Sydney for $1.8 million the following month after selling it on September 26 for $1,570,000.
According to court records, the perpetrators of the alleged kidnapping had previously attempted to abduct Vuong but failed.
Reimagined as a big-brand influencer with over 350,000 followers, Angel Bowyer is a former drug offender who served time for selling large amounts of MDMA.
