Remember back in 2019 when the media went all-in on the Progressive Squad?
AOC, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Ayanna Pressley — these women graced the covers of magazines and spent more hours in the studios of MSNBC and CNN than they did in the House chamber.
The press couldn’t get enough, declaring the Squad as the future of the party that would usher in a New Age of Progressive Socialism with Medicare for All, a Green New Deal, and a little Death to Israel thrown in for good measure.
Despite the full-court press by the corporate media, all it took was a disastrous economy, an out-of-control crisis at the border, and an open embrace of Hamas for the American people to weary of the far-left Squad.
The writing was on the wall earlier this year when Squad members Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush started losing ground in the polls against Democrat primary challengers.
A Democrat candidate with solid political instincts would have seen what was happening and known months ago that a far-left agenda like the one promoted by the Squad was electoral poison even among Democrat voters.
In June, Bowman got obliterated in the New York Democrat primary, losing by double-digits to moderate George Latimer.
It turned out that even Democrat voters in deep blue NY-16 weren’t particularly interested in reelecting a foul-mouthed, anti-Israel socialist Squaddie like Bowman.
Bowman’s primary defeat was a red flag to any Democrat running for office who thinks that doubling down on support for Hamas, open borders, and a far-left social agenda is a good idea.
Cori Bush followed Bowman into ignominious defeat, losing her primary race to Wesley Bell by nearly six points on the same day political ignoramus Kamala Harris tapped far-left progressive Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate.
Kamala’s decision to select Walz just as the House of Squad collapses is a clear sign that Harris has the political instincts of a potted plant.
The vast majority of Americans find the virulent antisemitism of the Squad repulsive. While some voters may have no problem with opposition to the Israeli government, the in-your-face Jew-hatred and open endorsement of a terrorist group like Hamas is a bridge too far, even for most Democrats.
If Kamala Harris had even an ounce of political savvy, she never would have caved to the radical left base by dropping Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro for the kooky leftist and phony Iraq War vet Tim Walz.
During the now-infamous “White Dudes for Kamala” Zoom meeting, Walz insisted that Democrats should not “shy away” from progressivism, adding “one person’s socialism is another person’s neighborliness.”
How’d that work out for Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush?
When Democrat voters in your neighborhood kick you to the curb, maybe deciding not to shy away from your “progressive values” isn’t such a winning plan.
Every member of the now-dwindling Squad gushed with orgiastic delight when Kamala announced Walz as her running mate.
Jamaal Bowman recorded a celebration video that was so unhinged and over-the-top that even Keith Olbermann would’ve questioned his sanity.
Ilhan Omar, who also has the political instincts of a potted plant, thought she was helping the Harris-Walz ticket by boasting about all of the far-left Squad-like policies Governor Walz enacted in Minnesota.
Fellow Squad member Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took a break from urging Democrats in Missouri’s District-01 to vote for Cori Bush to praise Kamala for her choice of Walz. Like Ilhan, AOC assured Americans that Kamala and Walz would support her favorite progressive policies “from healthcare to school lunch.”
Cori Bush also celebrated Kamala’s pick, saying in a tweet that a Harris-Walz ticket would put the Democrats on track to win on many of the radical left policies the Squad embraces. Hours later, voters in Cori’s district made it crystal clear how they felt about those policies.
Massachusetts progressive Rep. Ayanna Pressley also tweeted her support for the Minnesota satellite branch of the Squad.
Why is the media portraying Walz as a moderate when these guys can barely contain their glee?
And if the Squad’s full-throated support for Tim Walz doesn’t convince you that Kamala chose a radical, bear in mind that the Democrat Socialists of America also celebrated the choice of Walz as proof of the group’s power over the Democrat Party.
There’s a reason the Harris campaign has yet to include any policy proposals on its website. Team Kamala knows voters would head for the exits if they had an inkling of what Kamala Harris and her band of left-wing misfits had in store for them.
The corporate media has spent the last few days lying about Tim Walz, claiming that his “moderate” Midwest policies would help Kamala Harris appeal to undecideds and independents in battleground states like Michigan and Wisconsin.
Selecting Walz isn’t Kamala’s attempt to pivot to the middle. It is further evidence that the far-left progressive policies embraced by the Squad will form the cornerstone of a Harris administration.
The corporate media knows this, which is precisely why they would rather be complicit in Team Kamala’s effort to keep their nominee locked away in a proverbial basement rather than demand that Kamala face the press and answer questions directly.
The Kamala campaign and its sycophants in the media aren’t hiding Kamala just because they’re afraid that her verbal incontinence will make her look like a gormless fool. They’re hiding her away out of fear Kamala may inadvertently reveal herself as a far-left Squad wannabe during one of her meandering word salads.
In short, they can’t trust Kamala to keep her radicalism under wraps.
For example, in an “Election Highlights” live update item on August 7, the New York Times revealed that Kamala met with Muslim leaders in Michigan who asked the Democrat nominee about possibly imposing an arms embargo against Israel. Free-range Kamala let the cat out of the bag, telling them she was open to an arms embargo.
This forced the Harris campaign to immediately walk back her comments, claiming in a statement that Kamala was only reaffirming her willingness “to engage” with Muslim and Palestinian communities. The campaign insisted that their far-left candidate supported Israel’s right to defend itself and was “focused on securing” a ceasefire.
This is why Team Kamala is hiding their girl.
If voters see Kamala as the radical leftist she is, they will reject her just as resoundingly as voters in New York and Missouri rejected Jamaal Bowman and Cori Bush.
