Prince Harry is set to embark on another solo trip abroad, this time to Lesotho and South Africa, with no mention of his wife, Meghan Markle, joining him. Following a recent solo visit to New York, the Duke of Sussex will travel to Lesotho in early October for a gathering of business leaders, philanthropists, and local stakeholders to support his charity, Sentebale, which he co-founded in 2006 alongside Lesotho’s Prince Seeiso. The charity, which operates in Lesotho and Botswana, aims to help disadvantaged children, particularly those affected by HIV, and provide access to healthcare, education, and employment opportunities.
Prince Harry’s connection to Lesotho dates back to 2004 when he spent two months in the country during his gap year, an experience that profoundly influenced him. Sentebale, meaning “forget me not,” was established in memory of his mother, Princess Diana, and focuses on youth empowerment, emotional well-being, and advocacy for those impacted by HIV.
The upcoming trip will include visits to Sentebale’s programs, where Harry, also known by his Sesotho royal name “Mohale,” meaning “warrior,” will meet local leaders and youth advocates. The prince last visited Lesotho in 2018, the same year he married Meghan. His trip will also take him to Johannesburg, South Africa, where he will participate in working sessions with Southern Africa-based business leaders to explore strategies for reducing the digital divide and improving access to healthcare and education for the region’s youth.
Harry has recently been making solo appearances, including speaking at the Clinton Global Initiative 2024 summit in New York and participating in a skit with Jimmy Fallon. While he continues his philanthropic work, rumors persist about his possible return to the UK, a move that Meghan is reportedly not keen on.
What do you think – could there be some truth to the rumors that Prince Harry is unhappy in his marriage? Who could be happy being married to Meghan Markle, let’s be honest here…
