Prince Harry Might Attend Indian Billionaire Heir’s Wedding

Britain’s Prince Harry is rumored to be among future guests at the world’s most lavish and expensive wedding, which is expected to run on until September. Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant married in Mumbai, India, in mid-July at an event thought to cost around $300 million. The wedding lasted three days and was attended by British luminaries, including former Prime Ministers Boris Johnson and Tony Blair. The after-party, held in a 7-star hotel near Windsor, England, will run for more than two months.

The venue is Stoke Park Country Club, near the Royal Palace Windsor Castle and a regular haunt of the UK’s Monarch, King Charles III. The couple reportedly have exclusive access to the venue, with a source telling British reporters that the cost would be “chicken feed to them.” Mr. Johnson and Mr. Blair are expected to visit the happy couple, who are related to Asia’s richest man. Mukesh Ambani is the father of the groom, and he owns Stoke Park, having purchased it for around $60 million in 2021.

Indian-born Mukesh Ambani is the chairman of Reliance Industries and has a net worth of just over $117 billion. Reliance Industries is the largest firm in India and trades primarily in energy, petrochemicals, telecommunications, and textiles. Mr. Ambani started life relatively modestly and grew up in a two-bedroom apartment in Mumbai. He founded Reliance Industries in 1981 and hit the big time when he led efforts to create the world’s largest grassroots petroleum refinery in Jamnagar, going on to produce 660,000 barrels per day.

Before the bride and groom made their way to the UK for the extravagant wedding reception, more than 1,200 people watched them tie the knot in India. Katy Perry, the Backstreet Boys, and Justin Bieber all performed in front of guests, including Mark Zuckerberg, Bill Gates, and John Cena. Members of the Kardashian family likewise made an appearance.

The two 29-year-olds made their vows under lavish domes after the bride arrived on a boat. They are both heirs in extremely wealthy families – the bride is the daughter of pharmaceutical tycoon Viren Merchant.
