Elderly Man Arrested After Brutally Attacking His Own Daughter

After allegedly stabbing his daughter many times, an elderly father from Tennessee is now facing attempted murder charges.

A report shows the altercation reportedly took place outside a residence in the 3000 block of Louise Dr., which is located in South Nashville, according to Metro police.

In response to a domestic disturbance complaint, authorities were sent to the residence on Monday, Nov. 27, around 1:30 p.m.

That afternoon, police were sent to a property south of Nashville concerning a continuing domestic dispute. Upon the arrival of the police, they found a woman with several knife wounds to her face, neck, and chest. The victim’s father, Floyd Allen Seay, 81 years old, was immediately apprehended.

The savage attack was captured on security video that was shared by neighbors who saw it and informed the police.

Police officers discovered the woman with knife wounds to her face, lower neck, and chest when they arrived. The victim was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and stabilized after suffering critical injuries, according to the arrest report.

Floyd Seay, 81 years old, was detained by Metro police officers until detectives reached the location, according to the police.

Reports indicate that investigators spoke with many eyewitnesses who supplied footage purporting to show Seay and the daughter getting into a physical altercation after a verbal quarrel.
Seay reportedly made a horrifying confession before giving his knife to someone nearby after stabbing his daughter. His alleged statement was that he attempted to murder her but was unable to.

Officers further noted that Seay claimed the incident was the climax of events leading up to it and that he would do things similarly if given the opportunity.

The attempted criminal homicide charge was levied against Seay. His bail was set at half a million dollars when he was taken into the Nashville prison that evening.
Vanderbilt University Medical Center reported that Seay’s daughter is expected to recover.
